ASSIGNMENT 1 – Brian Hubble Analysis

Brian Hubble :

Brian Hubble is an American artist that is known for his Traditional style of Photoshop, like Tim Marrs; he creates layer on layer of different images to create a final piece which tells a story. From this piece Brian Hubble has created, he has taken various images of protesters, oil machines and maps along with main focus people. From this piece, I have worked out that the story is basfb2a361ce5f44ecff33043625664e533ed towards Japan and includes protests against oil work. Again, like all artists like Brian, the piece is created to give the viewer multiple views from different angles. Having worked for the New York Times, Brian is clearly very good at this style of Photoshop.

Here are other pieces of work Brian has done…

As you can see, with Brian being from and based in Brooklyn, his work is very american unlike Tim Marrs. It’s also clear to see that Brian loves to bring up more important stories up, shown with his pieces including the American flag, Washington and Martin L King, along with more protesters. I believe that Brian Hubble likes to bring across a stronger story/message in comparison to other artists like Tim Marrs. Looking at Brian’s work, I’ve noticed that he keeps adding a map in the background that could possibly help the viewer work out the location of the story, like I worked out in the first piece.
